Emergency Medical Technician / Responder

Description: MCOE offers an EMT program on the south coast in Gualala. EMT’s (Emergency Medical Technician) administer first aid treatment and transport sick or injured persons to medical facilities. This course is certified with the Coastal Valley EMS Agency and will prepare you to sit for the National Registry EMT exam.

Time: One semester (160 hour) training. This includes classroom instruction as well as ambulance ride along time and training in an Emergency Room setting.

Salary Potential: $11-$18 per hour

Cost: $695 (subject to change). Additional fees for NREMT Exam, Local EMS Agency certification and state certifications.

Pre-Requisites: 18 years of age, High school diploma or equivalency, a passing score on a basic skills examination and ability to pass drug screening and background check.

Anderson Valley, Ukiah, Laytonville, Lakeport, and Mendocino

Description: This course prepares students for both Emergency and Interfacility transports of sick and injured patients as well as the National Registry EMT test which is required for certification. Classes are offered in Anderson Valley, Ukiah, Laytonville, Lakeport and Mendocino. This course is certified with both Coastal Valleys EMS and North Coast EMS.
