
The Institute of Career and College programs offers training opportunities for post-secondary students who are seeking technical career training in order to prepare to enter the workforce.

MISSION
To prepare students through both classroom and clinical training opportunities to attain industry-recognized certifications for high-need, high-skilled careers based on local labor market needs.
Medical Assistant
This comprehensive 10-month program offers students complete training to become a Medical Assistant.
The Administrative (front office) training includes skills such as communication, billing, making appointments, medical terminology, and understanding the legal obligations of medical professionals. Students will upgrade their business skills including keyboarding, math, English, business writing, office procedures, employment skills, and computer skills.
The Clinical (back office) training includes anatomy, physiology, rooming patients, injections, and assisting the medical provider.

Cost: $4,500 Students must supply their own scrubs, blood pressure cuff, and student workbook (if desired).
Dental Assistant
If a career in health care appeals to you, then consider dental assisting. Dental assistants take on significant responsibility as valuable members of the dental health care team. Assistants greatly increase the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of quality oral health care. If you have strong communication skills, enjoy working with your hands, as well as your mind, and want a career with responsibility, dental assisting is for you. This training is 6-months long and combines hands-on training with classroom instruction to prepare students for careers in professional dental practices.

Cost: $4,000 (subject to change) cost includes classroom supplies, CPR certification, and background check. Students must provide their own scrubs.
Phlebotomy
This 100-hour phlebotomy program trains students in professional blood collection techniques for medical testing and blood banking. Students master essential skills including venipuncture procedures, equipment handling, and proper blood tube identification. Training covers butterfly needle techniques, syringe usage, and order of draw protocols. This comprehensive program prepares graduates for the national phlebotomy certification exam and careers in hospitals, clinics, and blood banks.
Externship must start within two weeks of completion of the classroom training portion of the course; Certificates of Completion will not be awarded until all requirements have been met, including the completion of student externships.

Cost: $3,000 (subject to change) cost includes textbooks and supplies, drug screen, and background check. Additional fees required for the national exam as well as state certification fees (fees vary). Students must provide their own scrubs.
